March 27, 2020: Until further notice, Building Inspections will only be performed for new construction (both residential and commercial). Occupied residential inspections will be limited to exterior only. All required interior inspections for residential properties will be put on hold and will not expire. Existing commercial inspections will still be performed with social distancing maintained.

March 25, 2020: In keeping with current CDC recommendations of social distancing, the Building and Code Compliance lobby will be limited to a maximum of 3 customers at a time. The doors to City Hall are closed to the public. We will continue to operate by appointment only. Please call the number below and we will inform you if a space is available and will open the door for you.  If a space is not currently available, we will take your number, call you as soon as a space is open and open the door for you.

12/9/19 Effective Immediately: Submittal of the Service Change Procedures form is required for all meter replacement permits.

Online Permit Submittals - Re-Roofs, Water Heater & AC Replacements and Electrical Panel/Service Changes

In addition to water heater replacements, air conditioning replacements and electrical panel/service changes, the Building Department is now accepting online submittals for re-roof permits. For more information please click here.

General Information

The Building Division is responsible for enforcing codes and ordinances ensuring safe, sound and progressive development of commercial and residential properties. Renovations, remodeling and construction are all closely monitored, while code inspections are conducted systematically. The division complies with guidelines established by the Florida Building Commission and Broward County Board of Rules & Appeals. The Building Division has three areas of responsibility: Building, Occupational Licensing, and Burglar Alarm Permitting.

Building Division **New Permit Applications**
Provides plan review, permits and periodic inspection services to most public and private construction as determined by the Florida Building Code and other applicable laws. The Building Division is responsible for the identification and removal of unsafe structures in conjunction with the Unsafe Structure Board.

Burglar Alarm Permitting/ Registration
Beginning Thursday, April 27, 2017, the City of Deerfield Beach False Alarm Reduction Program will no longer be administered by CryWolf Services.
